She’s really charming, she’s really smart. Not just her physical appearance, but that she’s really a special person, and I think the audience can see that right away. He sees something in the ‘girl’ character right off the bat- he’s really attracted to her. But I think he’s a really passive guy and if these girls were to get to know him, and give him a chance I think they’d see he’s really a wonderful guy, he just never gets that opportunity. And my character is more isolated and to himself, so he’s not really apart of that cool crowd. I think my character’s University is the majority of the ‘cool’ student body who’s made up of the fraternity guys, and those are the guys who get all the girls. I’m a college student, and he majors in philosophy. It was really physical, but I really haven’t gotten to do that yet, so it was really a cool experience. We were on top of a mountain for a bit on this deserted road, and we’re falling up and down these hills and running away from these.
The weather is really like the third main character in this movie, hence the title WIND CHILL. I can see how cold you are and that’s what we need, we need the audience to see what you guys are up against. I said to Greg afterwards, am I doing it right? And he’s like, ‘yeah, it was great- perfect. As an actor you need concentration and focus because you have to remember your lines and where you have to put your feet and what your intentions are in this scene, and it all went out the window. I grew up on the East coast, so I know cold, and it was so cold that I couldn’t concentrate or focus. We were dealing with negative 28 degree temperatures and it was just bitterly, bitterly cold. We just got back from being on location at about 5 and a half hours north of hear at this place called Summerland, don’t be confused by the sweet sounding name of this town, summer was nowhere to be found there. On February 21, 2013, it was reported that Holmes was cast as Wyatt Bickford in the ABC drama pilot Reckless. From 2011 to 2012, he appeared as Tyler Barrol on the ABC drama series Revenge. From 2010 to 2011, he starred as Thom in The CW series Nikita. In 2010 Holmes played Sid Phillips in the HBO miniseries The Pacific. On television he appeared in episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer, Numbers, House, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2008 he appeared in the comedy-drama film Smart People. In 2007 Holmes co-starred with Emily Blunt in the horror film Wind Chill. He also appeared in Peaceful Warrior in 2006, What We Do Is Secret and Normal Adolescent Behavior in 2007. The next year, he had a recurring role on ABC's series Boston Legal. In 2005 he starred in David Cronenberg's film A History of Violence. Holmes made his debut on television with a recurring role in the daytime soap opera One Life to Live. According to the Coheed and Cambria documentary Neverender: Children of The Fence Edition, in which Holmes appears, it was Holmes who eventually earned them their first record deal with Equal Vision Records. During this time, Holmes befriended Nyack, New York band Coheed and Cambria, and began shopping around their demos to local indie labels. Holmes was involved with the Albany music scene, and was the lead singer for local band Method of Groove. During his senior year of high school, he attended the intern program of the New York State Theater Institute. At a young age he began taking acting lessons and appeared in community theater.
